Straight answers to the questions importers and exporters ask us most.
Yes. Al-Bait Al-Iraqi for Customs Clearance is based at the Zurbatiyah border crossing in Wasit, Iraq, directly opposite Iran's Mehran crossing. We clear goods imported from Iran and transit cargo moving through Iran via every land crossing between Iraq and Iran, and we also handle exports from Iraq to Iran.
All official land crossings: Zurbatiyah–Mehran, Al-Sheeb–Chazabeh, Shalamcheh, Al-Mundhiriya–Khosravi, Haj Omran–Tamarchin, Bashmakh–Bashmaq and Parwezkhan–Parviz Khan. We also follow shipments arriving from Iranian ports such as Bandar Abbas and Bandar Imam Khomeini.
Our average is about 3 working days after the truck arrives and the documents are complete. It varies with the type of goods, inspections and permits. We review your documents before shipping to avoid delays.
Usually: commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, transport document (CMR for road or bill of lading for sea), an Iraqi import licence where required, a certificate of conformity (COC) for regulated goods, and a health or phytosanitary certificate for food. We review the documents before shipping to avoid fines and delays.
Yes — it is a common route. Containers are discharged at Shahid Rajaee Port in Bandar Abbas, travel overland through Iran under transit to Mehran–Zurbatiyah, Shalamcheh or another crossing, and we clear them through customs on entry into Iraq.
Yes. We handle export formalities — export declarations, certificates of origin and coordination with the relevant authorities — for products such as Iraqi dates.
All commercial goods: foodstuffs, steel and building materials, marble, heavy machinery, and specialised cargo such as medical and chemical materials, including the permits they require.
